City bike and mountain hike

High and low in Bergen

Self-guided day tour. Experience both summit and sea level of Bergen, with a biking tour through the city combined with hiking on the highest city mountain Mt. Ulriken (643 masl). You will experience a lot of cultural history and fantastic views at the top of Bergen’s highest city mountain.

About the trip

The Ulriken cable car takes you to Mt. Ulriken (643 masl). At the top, you can enjoy the view
of the city before you start the hike. This is a self-guided tour, which means that you will be
provided with an app that guides you in the right direction and gives you information about
the places you visit along the trail. The route offers exciting cultural history as well as
beautiful and wild highland nature and scenic views. You will walk to “Turnerhytten” on one
path and return on a different route, where you also will pass several ruins of old cabins. The trip offers great views of the sea, fjord and mountains. When the weather allows, you can see south to Folgefonna and to the oil fields in the North Sea. You return with the Ulriksbanen and cycle back to the city centre.

You get bicycles and equipment at Bergen Base Camp centre. The bike must be returned to Bergen Base Camp at Bryggen by 19:00. You can choose between road bike and electric bike. We have different sizes of bikes that we adjust to your height. If you want hiking poles (NOK 75) you can rent this additional product.
